The Cans travelled to Brechin to play the home side for the first time ever in the Highland League. This was a tough match for the Cans as Brechin have been in good form and it was always going to be a hard fixture.
The home side started well and grabbed the opening goal after 21 minutes when on-loan St Johnstone player Max Kucheriavyi dispatched a stunning free-kick into the top corner of the net.
Mechanics rallied and grabbed an equaliser when Stuart Soane scored a header from a Robbie Duncanson corner after 32 minutes.

Brechin picked up the pace at the beginning of the second half and regained the lead when Julian Wade headed in a Kucheriavyi shot which was going wide after 54 minutes.
This galvanised the home side and they stretched their lead when Marc Scott added a third goal after 70 minutes.
City kept up the pressure and substitute Rory Currie completed the scoring after 78 minutes when he raced clear of the Forres defence before sending a low drive into the bottom corner of the net.
Despite the score-line Stuart Knight was still in fine form and pulled off some great saves.
